Vocational Services Program
Creating Pathways to Job Success
Our Vocational Services Program offers a wide range of services to individuals with disabilities, including paid community-based assessments, internships, job placement and job coaching – here at Skills Inc. and with other employers in the community.
Washington State’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and other agencies refer people to Skills Inc.’s vocational services, where our staff fosters a process of self-discovery and career exploration that identifies clients’ strengths, skills and interests. We help individuals gain a deeper understanding of their abilities and how to market themselves to employers.
job seekers with a disability
First, we encourage you to connect with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), a state agency that helps individuals with disabilities obtain and maintain employment. DVR asks each applicant to perform three steps: watch a video, complete a brief self-assessment, and complete an online referral form. It can take up to 60 days for DVR to determine if you are eligible for services so we recommend starting the process immediately.
If you already have a DVR counselor and are interested in receiving employment services through Skills Inc., please ask your counselor to contact our vocational staff, at email@example.com or call 206-782-6000, to set up a tour.
Employers Seeking Quality Applicants
We recognize that Skills Inc. is not the right employment fit for every referred DVR Customer, so our vocational staff continues to develop strong partnerships with community employers in order to understand their business needs and advocate for qualified candidates. Through our partnerships, we are able to assist businesses and candidates with employment and cultural related issues to help foster an inclusive workplace.
Our staff can assist your business with finding qualified candidates at no cost to you. All applicants are pre-screened and tailor matched to your requirements. Contact our vocational staff today at 206-782-6000 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Skills Inc. has been accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) International since 2008. The accreditation demonstrates our dedication to excellence, continuous improvement and commitment to improving the lives of all persons served.
