Celebrate 25 Years of the ADA

On July 22nd, celebrate the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) with Washington state leaders and community partners at Westlake Park and Center in Seattle (map it). The act was passed in 1990 to prohibit discrimination against people with disabilities and also requires employers to make reasonable accommodations to enable people with disabilities to perform on the job.

Share in the public celebration of where we have been, where we are now and raise awareness of where we still need to go. Speakers include Senator Cyrus Habib, Senator Patty Murray, Mayor Ed Murray, Stuart Pixley and many more.

The celebration runs from 4–6 pm, Wednesday, July 22nd. More details available on Northwest ADA Center’s site or on the event’s Facebook page.
