On September 15th, Skills Inc. held its 12th Annual Golf Fundraiser at Druids Glen Golf Course. With the support of our generous sponsors and donors we raised funds for the Aerospace Internship Program (AIP). The AIP provides students with disabilities work based learning opportunities in aerospace manufacturing and finish while earning credit toward their high school diplomas.
This year’s tournament included beautiful weather, nearly 40 sponsors/donors, over 100 golfers and another 50+ joined us for the awards banquet. We are extremely grateful to everyone that participated and supported this year’s event! View and download event photos.
National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), observed every October, celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and educates employers about disability employment issues. This year’s theme is “Inclusion Drives Innovation.” ODEP, The Office of Disability Employment Policy, has released the 2017 poster, now available to download and order.

Held each October since 1945, NDEAM aims to educate employers about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of American workers with disabilities. This year’s theme is “#InclusionWorks.”

On September 9th, Skills Inc. held its 11th Annual Golf Tournament at Druids Glen. The event raised funds for our Aerospace Internship Program, which gives high school students with disabilities the opportunity to learn valuable life skills, receive one-on-one training, personalized instruction, and gain practical work experience in aerospace manufacturing and finish, all while earning credit toward their high school diplomas.
This year’s tournament was a big success! 146 golfers enjoyed a beautiful day on the links, another 50+ joined us for the awards banquet and a record amount of money was raised for our youth program.
